If you’re a beginner to intermediate photographer who wants to take better pictures, but doesn’t want to get hung up on a bunch of technical stuff, and you want people to say “WOW” when they see your pictures … then this class is for you!
REGISTER NOW“Darlene is clear and concise, easy to understand. She offers great tips without overwhelming the viewer with too much technical information. She is very encouraging and insightful and uses helpful visual illustrations as examples. The exercises are a great idea to inspire me to get creative again!” – Molly R.
Your instructor, Darlene, will be leading the weekly 2 hour better photography classes which will be online, live and fully interactive. You get to ask questions live, speaking directly with Darlene using audio (and video if you choose to be on camera) so you can see and hear each other.
Get encouragement and feedback on weekly practice assignments to help you learn and want to keep going. Only by doing will your photography improve and Darlene encourages this in a helpful, supportive manner.
All the classes will be recorded so you won’t miss a thing, even if you have to step away or run late. You also can watch, and re-watch the class as many times as you like.
You’ll learn about lenses, the elements of composition, textures, and depth of field. Find out about working the scene, or “walking around your subject”, and about photographing people. You’ll start to see “good light”, get better sunset images and night shots.
One 2 hour “Better Photography” class every week for 4 weeks. Darlene teaches live, you can ask questions as it happens. You will be able to ask your questions live, using audio and video (if you choose to) so you and the instructor can see each other. Weekly practice assignments with live feedback, discussion and encouragement keep you on track and moving in the right direction.
You can watch and re-watch the photography class as many times as you like as every class will be recorded. You’ll also receive a PDF of all the handouts and notes. Share your images from practice assignments to a private flickr group that will continue to be supported even after the class has ended. Interact with other class members and new students taking the next class.
No waiting for assignments to be emailed back and forth like in other online classes. No watching pre-recorded lessons that are all the same. No waiting weeks to have your questions answered. Your photos will improve each and every week if you do the work and participate.

“It was very specific, and not slanted by personal taste, and got right to the points that we can take away in an easy way to remember.” – Sharon A.
“Darlene is not only a photographer, she is a teacher.” – Michael S.
