Registration Part 2 – Policies & Registration

Cancellation Policy

A deposit is required for each participant. Payment in full is required when booking is made less than 90 days before the tour/workshop start date.

Balance payments are due 90 days before the start of the trip. Her View Photography reserves the right to cancel your reservation if payment is not received when due.

Refunds:

Reservation Fee – if you decide to cancel and we are able to refill your space, your reservation fee will be refunded. If we cannot refill your space, we cannot refund your reservation fee

Tour Fee (balance) – if you cancel your tour the following charges will be payable:

– If you cancel more than 61 days before the start of your tour fee (balance) will be refunded in full
– From 60 to 31 days before the start of the trip, cancellation fees are 25% of your tour fee (balance)
– From 30 to 8 days before the start of the trip, cancellation fees are 50% of your tour fee (balance)
– From 7 days to 72 hours before the start of the trip, cancellation fees are 75% of your tour fee (balance)
– If you cancel less than 72 hours before the start of the trip, we cannot refund your tour fee (balance)
– There will be no refunds for services and activities relating to the tour/workshop that are voluntarily not used by you
– Transfer charges and fees incurred on accepting and/or refunding payments will be deducted from the refund amount

If you wish to cancel your tour you must send notification by email to darlene (at) herviewphotography (dot) com.

We strongly advise you to take out trip insurance (see next section) to cover any losses you may incur should you have to cancel your tour/workshop.

Insurance

Each participant must be covered by Medical Insurance that is valid in Central America.

We strongly urge you to evaluate your risk and to buy Travel Insurance for your trip. It is vital for you to realize that if you experience a delay or find it necessary to cancel or cut short your trip for any reason, you will lose part or the entire sum you’ve invested in it.

Travel Insurance helps to minimize the risk of monetary losses you would incur in the event of a delay of your departure due to weather, airline strike, missed connection, etc., due to your inability to travel for reasons such as illness, injury, unforeseen financial complications and other personal circumstances, or if you are required to cut your trip short for medical or any other reasons.

There are restrictions and limitations on any insurance program. For this reason, choose your insurance carefully. Check their policies regarding trip cancellation, baggage, and medical insurance. It is to your advantage to apply for insurance as early as possible, so don’t delay in making a decision. To buy online, try companies like www.worldnomads.com or www.insuremytrip.com.

If you will be traveling with a lot of camera gear, you may need to insurance that separately to be covered in Central America.

Subject to Change

This itinerary has been carefully designed to assure participants the best this destination has to offer; however, should events arise that are beyond our control, activities and hotel arrangements are subject to change without notice. Be assured that we will make substitutions that are as similar in quality and interest as possible.

Participant Agreement, Release & Assumption of Risk

In consideration of the services of Her View Photography, their agents, owners, officers, volunteers, participants, employees, and all other persons or entities acting in any capacity on their behalf (hereinafter collectively referred to as “Her View Photography”), I hereby agree to release, indemnify, and discharge Her View Photography, on behalf of myself, my children, my parents, my heirs, assigns, personal representative and estate as follows:

1. I acknowledge that travel to foreign countries entails unanticipated risks which could result in physical or emotional injury, paralysis, death, or damage to myself, to property, or to third parties. I understand that such risks simply cannot be eliminated without jeopardizing the essential qualities of the activity. The risks include, among other things: the hazards of walking on uneven terrain and slips and falls, street muggings, hijacking, my own physical condition.

2. I expressly agree and promise to accept and assume all of the risk existing in this activity. My participation in this activity is purely voluntary, and I elect to participate in spite of the risks.

3. I hereby voluntarily release, forever discharge, and agree to indemnify and hold harmless Her View Photography from any and all claims, demands, or causes of actions, which are in any way connected with my participation in this activity, including any such claims which allege negligent acts or omissions of Her View Photography

4. Should Her View Photography or anyone acting on their behalf, be required to incur attorneys’ fees and costs to enforce this agreement, I agree to indemnify and hold them harmless for all such fees and costs.

5. I certify that I have adequate insurance to cover any injury or damage I may cause or suffer while participating, or else I agree to bear the costs of such injury or damage myself. I further certify that I am willing to assume the risk of any medical or physical condition I may have.

6. In the event that I file a lawsuit against Her View Photography, I agree to do so solely in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada and I further agree that the substantive law of Canada shall apply in that action without regard to the conflict of law rules of that state. I agree that if any portion of this agreement is found to be void or unenforceable, the remaining document shall remain in full force and effect.

Declaration

By joining this tour I agree to all of the conditions set out in this document including the Cancellation Policy which I have read and understood. I further acknowledge that if anyone is hurt, or property is damaged, during my participation in this activity, I may be found by a court of law to have waived my right to maintain a lawsuit against Darlene Hildebrandt or Her View Photography on the basis of any claim from which I have released them herein.

Part Three – Payment

Initial $500 reservation fee is required to book your position. Remainder of balance is due 90 days prior to travel.

In the case that you’re booking within 90 days, payment in full will be required. Complete your booking using this form and I will be in touch personally by email or phone with a method to remit the balance.
