Edmonton Photography Workshops
I am very happy to be offering some photography workshops in Edmonton this year, through McBain Camera. You can register and get dates and pricing information at www.McBainCamera.com. I’ve had many requests to teach so I will be honing up my teaching skills this year.

Travel Photography
Want to get the best travel pictures? Darlene will show you how to get the most of your camera while travelling. You’ll learn how to better compose your travel pictures, and many other tips to help you get the best travel pictures around. (Learn more about the Travel Photography Workshop in Edmonton)
This Travel photography workshop is offered as 2 evening sessions.
Available Light Photography
You don’t have to have a bright sunny day to get great pictures. The available light workshop deals with using only what you have available to work with. You’ll learn how to get great pictures with almost any kind of lighting, as well as using different angles to take advantage of the light. This Available Light photography workshop is offered as a Saturday single day workshop.
Night Photography
Learn the intricacies of night photography. Tips and tricks to get good shots, after the sun goes down. Equipment needs, lighting, and post processing are all covered in this workshop. (Learn more about the Night Photography Workshop in Edmonton.)
The Grandaddy of All Photography Workshops - A day at the Railway Museum with McBain Camera!
Full day on locations with 5 instructors! (this workshop has now been completed, if you’d like to get on the mailing list for next year’s please email info@herview.ca)
As a special collaboration, all the instructors from McBain Camera present an exciting opportunity to learn from five different teachers, five different subjects – all on the same day! Darlene will be leading the Available Light portion of the day.
Learn All Techniques, On Location, All In One Day

- Scenic or landscape photography
- Using off camera speedlights
- Available Light Photography
- Location Portraits using studio lights

This event will take place September 17, 2011 at the Alberta Railway Museum. The price of the workshop is $300 and will include live models in period costume and a hot lunch. You can get more information and register for this workshop on the McBain Camera web site Workshops page.

HDR Photography – 5 week class
HDR or High Dynamic Range photography is the latest greatest thing since sliced bread! Learn the camera basics of shooting HDR, and how to process your images to create stunning results like this:

I will also be adding some additional workshops, with an all female instructor team, through Her View Photography which may include topics such as:
